ZincFive Adds Three Global Technology Innovators To Advisory Board
New Board Members Share Long History of Creating and Driving Innovations and Markets for GE, Ener1, Reve, INROCK, Oil & Gas Services and More
PORTLAND, Oregon—(February 2019) – ZincFive CEO and Co-founder, Tim Hysell today strategically added three entrepreneurial all-stars who are passionate about bringing the world nickel-zinc battery solutions—the high performing, safe and green alternative to lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries for mission critical applications.
The Company’s patented nickel-zinc battery solutions include the fastest growing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in Intelligent Transportation (smart traffic signals, toll booths, digital road signs), deployed by more than 150 state and municipal departments of transportation across the US and Canada. ZincFive also provides UPS solutions to the multi-billion dollar data center backup market as well as motive applications.
“The future for clean, nickel-zinc battery technologies is expanding so fast,” says ZincFive CEO & Co-founder, Tim Hysell. “And Brent Lane, Charles Gassenheimer and Peter Foss can help us open the doors into those new applications. Their collective experience, resources and enthusiasm about nickel-zinc technologies that are good for the planet is really exciting.” The new members are:
Brent Lane: Small company growth stories are a passion for Lane, who has a history of identifying market opportunities and building companies in oil and gas services, construction, beverage and banking. Sandvik, a Swedish global, public company recently acquired one of Lane’s companies, INROCK, the industry recognized global innovator in horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The technologies allow installation of infrastructure below economic and environmental sensitive surface terrain. INROCK pioneered the first rock drilling projects ever attempted in the HDD industry. Lane is a board member of Dynomax and President of Reve.
Charles Gassenheimer is a pioneer in commercializing new energy technologies, including as Chairman and CEO of Ener1, where he helped build a team of 700 full time employees and the infrastructure equipped for large scale development. The Company expanded operations to a global platform with revenues growing ten fold and earning a spot on the NASDAQ. Gassenheimer also developed and commercialized the Company’s battery technology into the hybrid and electric vehicles market, grid-scale energy storage and consumer electronics applications. He has served on the Electric Drive Transport Association, Electrification Coalition and the Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy.
Peter Foss earned a 36 year reputation at GE for scaling ideas into working solutions. Among his positions, President of Olympic Sponsorship and Corporate Sales and spearheading a team to develop and implement growth strategies with a select group of GE’s global customers, Foss managed the Sales Force Effectiveness, Corporate Sales and Government Selling programs. Foss continues important work with the GE Healthcare team working on the GE/NFL brain research effort, which he helped initiate. Foss is also President of the private foundation, ALS Finding a Cure.
