Loveland, Colorado is a beautiful gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Recent job growth, development, and record park attendance has drawn millions to Loveland via US 34, which intersects with I-25. Increased traffic caused more road congestion, safety risks, and power outages, especially during extreme weather like tornadoes, floods, and snow.
Loveland initially deployed a lead-acid battery backup system to provide uninterruptible power, but they were spending too much time and money on maintenance and grew concerned over the toxicity and environmental risks of lead-acid batteries.
