ZincFive Unveils 50kW, 80kW and 100kW UPS Systems for Data Center and Industrial Markets

The ZincFive C3 series UPS combines safe and sustainable nickel-zinc batteries with modular inverter technology to deliver unmatched power protection for mission critical applications

PORTLAND, Oregon—(May 06, 2020)ZincFive, the world leader in nickel-zinc batteries and solutions, today announced the
ZincFive C3 series UPS, comprising 50kW, 80kW and 100kW three-phase 208VAC uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. With industry leading performance, safety, and simplicity of operation, the advanced UPS systems bring together ZincFive’s innovative nickel-zinc batteries and state-of-the-art modular inverter technology to offer data center operators flexibility, in placement of UPS infrastructure, where and when they need it.

With the sharp rise in edge computing and new IoT products continuously coming to market, a UPS system agile enough to handle increasing power requirements for decentralized power protection is essential. The ZincFive C3 series UPS disrupts the traditional UPS performance, safety and maintenance model, enabling adaptability in data center power infrastructure design.

Unlike UPS systems using lead-acid or lithium-ion battery technologies, ZincFive’s UPS utilizes nickel-zinc batteries that provide high power density with superior performance, safety and environmental advantages. The ZincFive C3 series 100kW UPS is 40% smaller and has 80% higher system power density than its competitors, making it the smallest footprint and lightest weight per watt for equivalent power three-phase UPS products. The system’s 10-year battery warranty provides confidence in the UPS performance over its operational life.

“When it comes to data center and facilities operations, long battery life and reduced maintenance equates to a lower total cost of ownership,” explains CEO and Co-Founder, Tim Hysell. “Operators who are unsatisfied with costly battery maintenance routines and premature battery failure will reap significant benefits with the ZincFive C3 series UPS, while also improving sustainability and lessening their impact on the environment.”

Nickel-zinc batteries are the ideal batteries for UPS backup, surpassing volatile lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries across multiple critical parameters including operation in harsh environments. They are less hazardous and more powerful than lead-acid, safer than lithium-ion and environmentally friendly. The ZincFive UPS provides a compelling economic and sustainable alternative to lead-acid and lithium-ion based UPS solutions.

The ZincFive C3 series UPS is now available to order.
